Potters Wheel ( ages 12 & up )
Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, & Week 5
AM & PM Sessions
This camp is for the beginner potter, ages 12 or up who has little to no experience with the Potters Wheel. Students will learn basic studio safety & working procedures as well as gaining an understanding about the nature of Stoneware clay. Wedging, Centering, Opening & Pulling up pots will be the main focus of this camp. Students will also learn how to trim & glaze pottery. Fired pottery will be available for pickup about 2 weeks after the camp has ended. Students are encouraged build on their skill set by attending successive camps.
Go Green Creations – Art w/ Recycled Materials ( ages 5 – 12 )
Weeks 1 & 5
AM & PM Sessions
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ordinary objects into functional art. All you need is a little imagination and the inspiration from us. Samples and materials will be provided, but of course your own are more than welcome. So sign up today and save any interesting shapes, forms, and textures to create your very own unique and eye catching “Go Green Creations!”
Mask Making ( ages 5 -12 )
Week 1
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will use Plaster Gauze and a mould to create a decorative Mask. The mould can be shaped into a variety of designs such as animals, creatures or people. Acrylic paint will add color, plus a variety of other materials will be used to enhance the design of your mask. Please feel free to bring any fabrics or ornamentations to personalize your masks.
Printmaking & Painting ( ages 5 -12 )
Week 2
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will learn about creating a variety of different types of Printmaking, such as, Gadget Prints, Foam Print, Stamp Prints, and E-Z Cut Prints. Campers will be printing on a T-Shirt. A pre-washed clean light colored T-Shirt should be brought to camp with your name printed on the tag. Acrylic or Tempera Paint will be used to learn the basic techniques of painting: Using a brush, Wash, Wet- on-Wet, Dry Brush, Lifting, Masking & Glazing. Other materials such as oil pastels, pastels, colored pencils, and markers will be used to enhance your designs.
Jewelry & Mobiles ( ages 5 -12 )
Weeks 2 & 3
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will use beads, wire, and embroidery floss to create unique Jewelry & Mobiles. Demonstrations of designs will be given & Campers may create their own designs or get ideas from their instructor. Please feel free to bring in any special beads you may want to personalize your artwork.
Mosaics ( ages 5 -12 )
Weeks 3 & 4
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will create a Garden Stepping Stone and a Outdoor 3-D Sculpture using small tile pieces, beach glass, & glass globs. Demonstrations of designs will be given & Campers may create their own designs or get ideas from their instructor. Please feel free to bring any pieces of broken jewelry, ceramics, shells, beads, or any small ornamentations that could be used to personalize your sculptures.
Hand Built Ceramics ( ages 5 -12 )
Week 4
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will learn basic studio safety & working procedures as well as gaining an understanding about the nature of Stoneware Clay. Wedging, Pinch, Coil & Slab techniques will be the focus of this camp. Students will also learn how to glaze pottery. Fired pottery will be available for pickup about 2 weeks after the camp has ended.
Drawing & Painting ( ages 5 -12 )
Week 3
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will use Acrylic or Tempera Paint to learn the basic techniques of painting such as, Brush Basics, Wash, Wet- on-Wet, Dry Brush, Lifting, Masking, & Glazing. Other materials such as oil pastels, pastels, colored pencils, and markers will be used to enhance the designs. Drawing techniques such as Shading, Hatching, & Creating forms using Highlights and Shadows will also be introduced.
Sculpture ( ages 5 -12 )
Week 5
AM & PM Sessions
Campers will use Papier Mache’, Sculpey & Wire to create unique 3-D forms. Acrylic paint will add color, plus a variety of other materials will be used to enhance the Sculpture.

Jewelry Making w/ Gilda Jennings
This 3 session course in which students will learn to use color, to plan, and to assemble
several jewelry pieces of their own design with beads of their choice.

Beginner Wheel Pottery w/ Jim Ralph
This 6 session course will cover wedging, centering, opening, pulling a pot up, trimming, & glazing techniques. Follow up this course by attending DAL’s weekly
Open Studio Pottery Sessions every Wednesday 6 – 8pm.

Mosaic Sculpture w/ Emily Hickey
This course is designed for the beginner, with little or no experience in mosaic work.
Students will learn how to create a form & decorate it to create an outside, all weather
mosaic cement sculpture during a 6 session course.
